Alan Barry Esq.

OWNER / ATTORNEY

On January 2, 1980, I sat in my new office on an old chair at a borrowed desk and looked across at the secretary I had hired to work full time and wondered how I would have enough work to keep her busy even part time.

Since then in addition to being able to buy a new chair and desk, I've had the opportunity and pleasure to serve thousands of clients and watch Alan Barry & Associates, LLC grow to the firm it is today. Our attorneys and staff are not only great professionals, but great people as well, all dedicated to one abiding principle: represent each client zealously as a professional, compassionately as a person.

From this perspective, each one of us not only brings to bear our knowledge of the law, but also a commitment to achieving the best possible result with passion and compassion. I know you have hundreds of lawyers to choose from and that I and all of us have to work that much harder, that much smarter to earn your trust and validate that your decision to choose Alan Barry & Associates, LLC was a right one. In fact I think it's our passion for what we do that sets us apart and makes us a highly regarded law firm.

If you're in need of a lawyer in Connecticut or New York in the areas of Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Worker's Compensation, Real Estate, Business Law or Wills & Trusts, contact me. We're ready to go to work for you.

By the age of 8 I had been studying the piano for 2 years. My Russian Immigrant parents were convinced I would be the worlds next great concert pianist. By the age of 12, the piano and voice lessons were in serious conflict with baseball, football, raging hormones and rock and roll. During this time I was also learning about businesses I would be involved in for the rest of my life.

My Father was a successful real estate developer and I started working in construction for him, summers, tarring foundations, when I was 13. I also spent seemingly endless days with my mother on 7th Avenue in the Garment District as she built her widely acclaimed womens high end specialty clothing store, Sylvia Barry. My mothers Dress store was a landmark for over 30 years.

My mother was a strong, brilliant, compassionate ,sensitive, beautiful woman, and was everything a woman should be. I see so much of her in my daughter, and in me as well.

My father was the most incredible man that I shall ever know. He was self made, and never forgot his roots. Like my mother, he was universally loved and admired. He was passionate about life, and had a sweet compassionate soul. He was a man's man, while being expressive and physically affectionate and loving. Who I am as a man today is a direct reflection of him. I see him in my sons.

By age 16, I was playing drums in a band, that was the opening act in such legendary New York City venues as The Cheetah Club, and The Bitter End, and opening for the likes of Sam and Dave, and The Lovin Spoonful. That all came to end when I was given the option of continued financial support from dear Mom and Dad, or being cut off entirely if I (along with the band) signed a proffered deal with RCA records. The choice seemed obvious given the already expensive tastes I had already acquired.

After graduation from the University of Connecticut Magna Cum Laude with special distinction and double major in Political Science, it was on to Western New England School of Law where I obtained a degree of Juris Doctorate.I opened my own Law practice, Alan Barry & Associates in 1980, www.alanbarry.com and have never looked back. While in practice, I have personally developed residential, and commercial real estate.

I also built owned and operated the largest Fitness Facility in the region, which now operates as a New York Sports Club.I am proud to say that I have handled hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate transactions, and collected tens of millions of dollars for seriously injured clients.

Along the way, I have had the pleasure of representing great stars in the music and entertainment field including world renowned Broadway superstar musical writer Jerry Herman ( Hello Dolly, Mame) and Felix Cavalier of the Rascals ( Groovin, Its a Beautiful Morning). As a collector of classic Automobiles I , I acted as counsel for the Atlantic Region of The Rolls Royce Owners Club. Through my involvement in the Automobile Racing Industry, I had the distinct honor of representing champion ship winning Newman Sharp Racing , which included Paul Newman, Tom Cruise, and the late Walter Payton, along with former Indy Racing League star Scott Sharp.

I had the incredible blessed fortune to have had three incredible children with my first wife,My son Maximillian 35 daughter Shana, 30,and son Cameron 25, are a constant source of Joy and inspiration in my life. I view my relationship with them as the most powerful and wonderful force in my life, and I thank God every day for blessing me with them.

On a sunny, unusually warm Dec 1 2001, I was out riding my Harley Davidson motorcycle. A car, coming in the opposite direction, crossed the center line of the road. I swerved to avoid being hit, and went down. I arrived barely alive at the hospital, and lapsed into a coma for months. There was little belief in my regaining consciousness, let alone ever function normally. Months of hospitalization, and 9 surgeries over the last 10 years, I am here, stronger than ever, and with an incredible new lease on live.

I have been so fortunate to also be able to professionally pursue my passion for photography, and proud to have my work seen around the World in such publications as US Weekly, InTouch, Life&Style, THE SUN UK, MAXIM UK, FHM Europe among many others. My work can be seen at www.alanbarryphotography.com

I have a wonderful loving wife, Tatiana, and on Sept. 25th 2010 our son Alexander Vladimir was born. My children are all happy and healthy, and I am blessed to be alive.

My story is not more unusual than most. If you live, then you will get banged up along the way. I have been blessed with opportunity to grow, learn and prosper from all that I have experienced.I live my life with passion and appreciation for every moment. I appreciate my past, love my present, and look forward to my future.
